Statewide LG EE Best Practices: Weekly Update

California's Solar Mandate for New Homes

The California Energy Commission adopted building standards that require solar photovoltaic systems on new home construction starting in 2020. Click here to find more information from the Califonia Energy Commission.

In the headlines...

1.  We shouldn't require solar on new residential construction, utility-scale renewables is a better alternative
2.  We should wait, more research/discussion is needed
3.  The timing is right and California will be a model for the rest of the country
